then we went to brisbane for a while

we went to help mum pack up nana's house before it was sold.

en route we stopped at uncle milton's factory so the kids could have a ride on the caterpillar. of course, both boys were wildly excited by it. oskar climbed all over it, and carlo did his best to amble over it as well. oskar had to stop and ring his dad in canberra to tell him all about it as well.

oskar also turned 3 in september

we had a fantastic party for him in the garden. this year we had fantastic weather - all sunshine and good times. oskar celebrated on his birthday with a mask from carlo and some binoculars from us. aunty jan and uncle dave sent a totem tennis - which our sports jock managed to hit successfully in about 6 attempts.

at his party he had a soccer field cake. photo with his friend meera. and doesn't carlo look cute in a party hat. next birthday i am strapping the camera to my chest and shooting away as we didn't take many photos at all. most disappointing...

we also had a quick trip to sydney in september

one reason was for the kids to go to the beach and the zoo. oskar was way impressed by the chimpanzees. he loved that they would swing from vine to vine bashing into each other and pushing each other over - emulating his behaviour. i am sure he was wondering why it was ok for them to do that to each other, but not ok for him to do that to other kids.

but most importantly for alex and i to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. which we did at level 41 over a spectacular 6 course degustation menu with matched wines. thanks jenny for minding the kids for us...

you spin me right round, baby right round

both the boys used to be able to fit into this ikea spinning chair - not sure whether they would be able to now, but they would have fun trying.

alex just loves housework

especially with carlo in his arms and bob the builder on tv
