in the garden

the joining of two of oskar's great loves - the flower water bath (which is now broken cause he threw a stone which broke a hole in the base of the terracotta) and soccer. we were kicking the ball around and then realised that the ball was making its way into the bath more and more frequently, until he decided he should just join it in the water.

this is what we went to the galle face to see, but we got more than we bargained for.

it was a very strange party

and thankfully, not one we were invited to. a quiet sundowner at the galle face hotel turned into a wild kids party - with an array of 'special' characters, really ugly polyester party dresses, lots of balloons and an adventure playground of pg martin inflatable rides and toys. oskar ate his pizza and then decided to crash the party. nana is seen here trying to save oskar from the wierdest minnie mouse in existence. however, the purple funky monkey really was the funkiest dancer in town. oskar particularly liked it.

it was a rainy day and oskar was getting kinda restless. decided to crack open the betty crocker instant choc-chip cookie packet. oskar really only liked to eat the flour though...

we bought oskar a little aeroplane because he loves them so much. we got it home and regretted it immediately - noises, flashing lights, self-propelling. a parents' nightmare. he loves it.

it broke, oskar was sad. alex fixed it, oskar was happy.

we tolerate it because its passengers are oskars little friends.

paparazzi

when not sleeping, eating or riding on his gla gla, oskar can be found at glow, colombo's premiere nightspot, avoiding the paparazzi.

the economist

when not reeading the economist, alex sharon is usually found playing with oskar, reading philosophy and listening to stereolab.

oskar speaks

ok this one is a little happy parent rave. oskar is now onto two word combinations:

• our car (first said on 30/1 - thought this was just a fluke so ignored it. you know baby language is so hard to interpret sometimes)
• night nanna (first said last night)
• bye tractor (said today as he watched a tractor pass us by on dharmapala mawatha)

well, it was a sunday afternoon and there was nothing better to do than go for a swim at the pool and get some pizza. not content with just a slice, oskar goes for half a pizza. did he suceed? yes he did!
